Jumbo Interactive Limited is a leading digital retailer of official government and charitable lotteries such as the OZ lottery. Their purpose is to utilise the latest technology to craft an engaging and entertaining purchase experience for their clients across various digital platforms.

In November 2021, DiGiCOR worked with Jumbo; a company dedicated to providing the ultimate digital solution to powering lotteries large and small, with over 2.5M customers accounts. Using a cloud lottery management platform, Jumbo is able to expertly integrate with market-leading tools to create an efficient system that enables growth for any sized lottery or raffle.

This situation required DiGiCOR to provide a solution that would enable Jumbo to develop solutions to optimise lottery performance, manage lottery draws, and customer sales channels, utilise industry-leading native apps and ensure the best customer and player experiences.

Challenges

Jumbo had a tight deployment schedule. As a result, we listened carefully to Jumbo’s needs to really understand what they needed. As part of the process, we also spent time evaluating and analysing their requirements in order to determine the best possible solution for them. They wanted a solution that would enable them to continue developing solutions to optimize lottery experiences and manage lottery draws and customer sales channels. In addition, it was vital that the solution that we provided was able to enhance their technology and enable them to provide lotteries with the tools required to succeed and grow their returns. For example, boosting customer engagement with multiple game types.

Firstly, Jumbo needed 1 RU server that would allow them to achieve greater compute power and utilise their cloud-based lottery management platform.

The servers had to fulfil their tight deployment schedule, as well as be cost-effective, reliable, and flexible to be able to accommodate future growth. In addition, they also required a maximum of 64 core density processors that were powerful, high performing, and able to manage demanding workloads.

How We Helped

Since the client had requirements for a 1 RU server, we analysed these requirements and recommended them to an ASUS I RU server. This is because the ASUS 1 RU server matched all their needs. Given the global logistic demands, Asus was able to fulfil their request in this period given the client’s tight development schedule. Additionally, Asus was also recommended because it was cost-effective, flexible and could accommodate future growth. Overall, the ASUS server had a shorter waiting period and supported more features such as being able to support up to 12 NVME drives. As a result, it would enable the client to expand their storage in the future and which also creates better value for their money. We provided them with 10 ASUS 1RU servers to enable them to obtain greater computing power.

Secondly, the client required 2 32 core processors, however, because they wanted to achieve maximum 64-core density at a cost-effective price, we were able to consolidate those requirements with one AMD 2nd Gen processor. This processor was also recommended because it’s high performing and could manage a wide spectrum of workload types.

This was especially crucial for jumbo because they needed a processor powerful enough to handle workloads that would enable them to develop solutions to optimise lottery performance.

Results

The compact 1U server provided to Jumbo supported up to 64 core 2nd/3rd Gen EYPC, 2TB system memory 12x NVMe drives which enabled them to utilise the latest technology to craft engaging and entertaining. This also allowed Jumbo to enhance the entertaining purchase experience for their customers, as well as provide lotteries with the tools required to succeed and grow their returns. Because it’s a compact solution, it means that Jumbo can expand in the future if needed. In addition, the Solution has flexible Fan control to reduce noise levels and maximise power consumption. Lastly, comprehensive IT infrastructure management via ASMB9-iKVM and ASUS control term makes remote management easy.

As a result of the solution, Jumbo continues to develop solutions to optimise lottery performance and manage lottery draws and customer sales channels.
